3 reasons why copy products fail

Frustration that copy product is not selling

Many new entrants come to market with a copy product that try to match market leader’s features. Here is why market leaders can’t be beaten at their own game.

1. It costs them less to make the product: Because of their scale, they can make the product for less. So, they can sell for less and still make money

2. It costs them less to be in front of buyers: Because customers and press talk about ‘em, and anyone in market knows about ‘em. When a buyer is in need, he remembers the market leader

3. It costs them less to close a sale: Buyers think there must be a reason they are #1. So, they buy from them. It is a good and safe choice

Successful new entrants don’t make copy products and hope. Instead, they focus to impress a small market segment, or create a different solution, or find a new appeal for bloggers & buyers to fall in love
